Hello, I'm
Patricia Carozzi

My name is Patricia Carozzi. I am a dancer and performer with a deep affinity for writing. My writing is distinguished by self-reflective journaling and mindfulness, all of which lives in my diary. I also inquire and write on environmental issues, human behavior, and arts & culture. My journals may be filled with personal reviews on theater plays, exhibitions, novels, and movies. I enjoy short and concise writing, but will switch to long format storytelling when I reflect on events I have attended, such as concerts and festivals.
Dance
Dance has been my passion from the first time I could think. To me, it is symbolic of resilience; to always stand up and start again. Dance is representative of challenges and growth, insofar as our bodies and we, as people, change throughout time. For dancers and performers, our bodies are our primary means of expression. It is an instrument we like to perfect, in the same way that we like to practice perfecting movements. And while our body is holding us through daily life, dance will often show us the raw expressions of being a human.
Dance is, indeed, a never-ending story.
Service
In addition to the transitory art form of dancing, I spend my time writing. I enjoy listening to people’s stories because I want to understand the different outlooks on life. I delight in getting insights on personal attitude and different mindsets. For instance, what moves you and why? What makes you angry? Have you ever been in a situation of helplessness? What have you been touched by, recently? What’s on your heart?
If you feel curious and desire to work with a storyteller, let me help you. I will write your story and transform your most important messages into a poetic and worthwhile piece of writing.
Reach out to me if you wish to immortalize your story with the timeless art of writing.
In addition to my dancing, I have dedicated part of my time to working as a supernumerary actress, landing a variety of roles in advertising, theater, and even a movie. The greatest benefit of such experiences has always been the interaction with professional people. I made valuable connections with people who love what they do, believe in the realization of their ideas, and understand the value of creative collaboration.
My personal strengths lie in my sensitive nature, ability to easily focus, readiness of mind, and musicality. I am known for my perseverance and curious, analytical mind. I tread on unknown territory with confidence, a strong willingness to learn and adaptility. I embrace the school of life where we learn to stick with what is important to us and let the moments that disturb us go. Through all these explorations and inquiry on the human experience, we can eventually become who we truly are and are meant to be.
In the realm of self-expression, my character is rather introverted. I work best in artistic environments that provide calm conditions with periods of rest and reasonable working structures.
I like to work, learn, elaborate and contribute to my fullest ability in a true and honest way! I enjoy sharing my personality with people that are kind and friendly, and who work seriously and responsibly – without missing the funny moments – which always inspires my writing.

Vita
My story with dance and theater starts in my early childhood with ballet lessons and regular performances at the Kurtheater in Baden, Switzerland.
While attending grammar school, I decided to realize my dream of becoming a dancer! I pursued this at the INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL OF CONTEMPORARY DANCE (IWANSON) in Munich, Germany, where I received my dance diploma in 2005. At the time, I had the honor and pleasure of joining a choreography team with Pia Fossdal, Katja Wachter, Regine Blum, Jan Kodet, Jochen Heckman and many others; all of whom have also been my teachers. I speak five languages fluently because at grammar school I focused on languages and literature; though, English is my favorite.
After one and a half years performing and training in Neuhausen and Zurich (Gerda-von-Arb-Center), I was drawn back to Germany, this time Berlin. What followed was a more difficult period in my life, while equally intensive and emotionally stirring (2007 – 2011). Through the School of Performing and Fine Arts (DIE ETAGE) I came to dance in a choreography of Ellen Davis in Potsdam (At the Tone the Time Will Be) which was an homage to her mother and particularly interesting because we performed in the middle of the exhibition and with fluctuating audience. I have also had the opportunity to participate in commercial spots for HEINEKEN and MAGNUM. One of the highlights was the experience with the American production of THE SPEED RACER where I was playing one of the flight attendants. The memory of smooth and flowing people working on set, mixed in the movie ambience, left me without words and still provokes that sensation, to this day.
It was also during my time in Berlin, and in the context of various unique experiences, that my writing began to bloom.
Back in Switzerland, I registered at the University of Bern to study dance and theater. To start reflecting about art on that level, dance history and theater as a cultural and social phenomenon has been an intellectually enriching experience in my life. In particular, my philosophical studies have improved my analytical thinking and influenced and formed my writing abilities. Three of my Professors in Philosophy have been a true inspiration. Two of them have even complaisantly encouraged me to write. I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Dance Studies with a minor in Philosophy in 2016.
I am constantly taking ballet classes at HALAMKA in Bern and have recently also taken up improvisational work. I am open to all kinds of artistic experiences in different fields such as dance, theater, movie, video clips and so much more. I seek experiences where I can transform and mold into a role or a moving, flowing organism, such that I am able to transcend the veil of the ordinary life. I can feel my skills and my being are alive as my creative practice continues to grow.
